Looking for someone to take over
After 4 Board Game Jams and 2 UnPub Minis and major life events (getting married and having a child), I am no longer able to do anymore LA Board Game Jam events. I very much appreciate everyone who participated and supported this crazy idea I had a few years ago and it went beyond what I thought was possible.
Now I want to see if anyone is interested in taking over the mantle and leading future LA Board Game Jam events. I can provide you the media resources, contacts, mailing list, website, materials, etc to host an event and I can help consult in the planning. But looking for someone with passion and interest to take things to another level.
If interested, please contact me on Facebook or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Great seeing everyone’s creativity and enthusiasm in our events.
LA Board Game Jam is a timed creative exercise where teams of 3-5 people have just five hours to brainstorm, design, test, and complete a prototype board game. Each team is given an identical set of materials and a surprise theme to use as a starting point. After time expires the games are judged by other teams, outside players, and the official judges. The top three highest rated games are then announced and prizes awarded. It's like Iron Chef for board games!
Our most recent event took place at Gateway 2016 on September 2-4. Five teams and over 20 contestants made board games over the Strategicon weekend with a theme of "Wedding." We had three teams complete and they presented their creations to a room full of people. We look forward to hosting more events in the future - please sign up for our mailing list. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and watch this page for information on what to expect in the future!
